Youth and New Drivers Workshop

The workshop aims at exposing youth groups/ young adults, as soon to be drivers, to the risks and responsibilities of road users. In addition, the training develops their awareness, understanding and basic skills as to safety measures they can undertake as pedestrians, passengers and soon to be drivers.


Many of the accidents that occur involve young drivers. This is often the result of:

  • Lack of awareness and understanding of risks
  • Lack of experience on road usage and the dangers that may unexpectedly show
  • As teenagers they will may start experiencing late night parties, with possible access to alcohol
  • Feeling peer pressured to act in an irresponsible manner such as drinking and driving, speed driving, be in a distracted driving situations

Training Outcomes and Benefits:

  • Increasing students' awareness to proper responsible road safety behaviour
  • Promoting responsible driving culture among drivers, by changing driver's attitudes.
  • Raising students awareness as to the risks involved in:
  • Drinking and driving
  • Distracted driving
  • Speeding
  • Reaction time
  • Helmet & seat belt wearing
  • Managing peer pressure

Who is the course suitable for?

Youth groups: ages 15-18


Training Duration: 1/2 day (4 hours)
